Issues which affect the entire country
T.J. believes that, of all Amendments included in the Bill of Rights, our Second Amendment is the most important. The Second Amendment is the ultimate Check and Balance on Federal overreach. T.J. Allen believes that these Rights, granted to us by our Creator and secured by the Constitution, have already been whittled away at enough. T.J. supports repealing the National Firearms Act of 1934, or, at the very least, removing certain items from it, as well as National Reciprocity.
All Americans have the inalienable rights to Life, Liberty, and Property. These rights do not simply disappear under extraordinary circumstances, such as a pandemic. T.J. does not believe the Federal government should be mandating anything, especially vaccinations and masks. These decisions should be left up to local level government, which can better tailor their COVID response based on the needs of their people.
It's no secret that Uncle Sam loves taking your money and spending it, often frivolously. In fact, the Federal government loves spending so much, they've accrued a $28 TRILLION national debt! We need to reign in that spending, and with that, reign in the amount of taxes we all pay to the Federal government. T.J. believes in a Fair/Flat tax, in which everyone pays exactly the same rate. He also believes in abolishing the IRS, auditing the Fed, and cutting spending to pay down the deficit.
Our Southern Border, at the time of this writing, is completely unsecure. Monthly, hundreds of thousands of foreign nationals are illegally pouring across it, and the current administration is doing nothing to stop it. In fact, they are enacting executive orders to do much the opposite! T.J. supported Donald Trump's idea to build a wall - with a door in it. T.J. supports LEGAL immigration and believes the American Dream is available to anyone who follows our Laws and supports our Nation.
Not since the Korean War has the government properly declared it. Instead, Congress has passed Authorization for Use of Military Force agreements, granting the President the ability to authorize force as he sees fit. This leads to all sorts of messy situations, i.e. Iraq and Afghanistan. If elected, I will vote down all such Authorizations and will only vote Yes on legitimate Congressional votes that declare war against a specific country or faction.
As a Soldier in the U.S. Army's Ordnance Corps, T.J. learned the motto, "Armament For Peace." Simply put, a superior military coupled with advanced technologies deters aggression for our enemies. This has been a known strategy since the time of the Romans. T.J. supports having a strong military, even in times of peace, and giving them the weaponry they need for the 21st Century and beyond.
